The author intended to research by longitudinal research method the physiques of 2943rd grade highschool students in farming country (male, 157, female; 137) who had been for during the period from March 1 in 1965 to February 28 in 1966 and to prove as one of the growth-accelerating phenomena that Maximum Growth Age in becoming younger.
The results are as follows;
Ⅰ. Physical Growth and Development.
Body-height showed the first-step linear development, and body -weight, chest-girth, and sitting height the second-step linear development, In the second- step development, girl students were shown to excel boy students.
The intersecting ages of male and female were, respectively,
the age 11.5-14.5 in case of body weight,
the age 10.5-14.5 in case of body weight,
the age 11.5-15.5 in case chest-girth, and
the age 10.5-13.5 in case sitting-height.
During these periods, female excelled male in growth and development, but ofter these periods, male excelled female again in growth and development.
Ⅱ. Physical and Nutritional Indices.
The indices of the physique such as relative body weight, relative chest girth and relative sitting height increased with age.
Rohrer and Kaup indices representing body in dear and the nutritional status also approached toward the nomal condition with age.
Vervalck and Pelidisi nutritional Indices also increased with age and approached favard the nomal condition.
Ⅲ. Maximum Growth age of physical Growth and Development.
In case of body height, MGA´S are 13.58 for male and 11.34 for female, which shows that MGA for female appears two years earlier than that for male.
In case of body weight, MGA´S are 14.28 for male and 12.51 for female, which shows that MGA female appears two years earlier than that for male.
In case of chest girth, MGA´S are 14.37 for male and 13.32 for female, which shows that MGA for female begins about one year earlier than that for female.
In case of sitting height, MGA´S are 13.94 for male and 11.50 for female, which MGA for female begins about 2 year earlier than that for male.
The MGA´S of the physique appear with the early order of body height, sitting height, body weight, and chest girth.
